About the Trust

The story of the Friends of Regent College Canada Trust really begins with the birth of Regent College itself, when Founding Principal Dr. Jim Houston made the journey from Oxford, UK, to Vancouver, Canada, to join with the founding families of Regent College in establishing a world-class theological school focused on the whole people of God.

The relationship between Regent College and Christian communities in the UK has remained close throughout the College’s five decades of existence, and continues today with students, faculty, guest speakers, and other friends making regular trips across the Atlantic.

The Friends of Regent College Canada Trust was established in 1998 for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate the advancement of theological education and religion in the UK and beyond through the raising of funds for the use and growth of Regent College in Vancouver, BC.
  • To advance the progress of theological education world-wide. This will be accomplished through the raising of funds to assist persons from the UK and Europe, Asia and Africa so that they might attend Regent College by the provision of Friends of Regent College Canada Trust scholarships, bursaries and other such assistance.
